Our Story
The morning of April 3rd, 2020, started like any other. My husband Brady, a lineman apprentice, kissed our daughter and me goodbye at 5:30 AM before heading to work. About five hours later, I received a text from my brother-in-law that simply said, “He is going to be alright.”
Confused, I replied, “Who?”—and then my phone rang.
That call scarred me for life. I was told Brady had been in a serious accident. While driving a work truck up a mountain, the brakes failed and the truck rolled down the side of the mountain.
By the time I learned of the accident, Brady was already enroute to the hospital. I quickly made arrangements for our daughter and drove the longest hour of my life to be by his side.
Miraculously, Brady survived with only bumps and bruises. But the emotional toll of not knowing, not being contacted right away, and the fear of the unknown, never left me.
That day, I knew something needed to change.
